This course will provide an introduction to Industrial Hygiene principles along with practical information on the identification, measurement and control of the primary IH hazards in the pulp and paper industry. Participants will gain a basic understanding of the more common IH hazards that may be present at their site and how best to measure and control. This is a true introductory course, there are no educational or job-related prerequisites. Instructor: Bayless Kilgore, CIH, CSP, EnSafe -Safety managers and coordinators in P&P/converting/forest products industry
-Have a basic understanding of industrial hygiene principles -Be aware of the primary industrial hygiene hazards that may be present in their workplace, including potential health effects -Know how to sample/ measure the hazards -Know the primary methods to control/eliminate each of the hazards -Be aware of IH standards and exposure limits
Introduction to IH, Health Effects, Noise, Temperature Extremes, Chemical Exposures, Radiation, Biological Agents, Ventilation, Respiratory Protection, Sampling Principles and Methods, and OSHA Standards/Exposure Limits Early Bird Registration Rates are $450 for members and $695 for non members. Early Bird Registration ends on August 14, 2015. After that the rates will be $550 for members and $795 for non-members.
